Phrase of Grattitude

Happy New Year!
A day to celebrate,
Lots of tasty veggie foods
remnants of yesterday's celebration,
which i can't eat because of you.
What had I've done to suffer
this torment, Ekadasi?

Oh Ekadasi this sadness is killing me;
I'm drowning myself with Holy Names
but it doesn't ease the inner pain.
My Lord must have had abandoned me.
My body is too weak to withstand hunger;
but who cares, I am already without life.
I will simply hold on to your promise.

Almost everyone are posting about eating, 

feasting, celebrating, enjoying, partying.

Why then a non-conformist loner 

foolish rebel without a cause like me,

as if with no reason, is posting about suffering, 

less consumption fasting, and other self

inflicting pain that are concerns of no one.

Actually, it's because of you Ekadasi, 

my attempt to be closer to you.

You are wisdom

you are knowledge

you are sacrifice

you are courage

you are mystical

you are strength;

you are mine, my savior,

my personified wonders;

i love you Ekadasi.

"One Sweet Day" today, 

sweeter if observed with 

no food intake but with God's Names. 

I am yours, Oh Goddess of Mercy. 

Love is only a word w/o sacrifice; 

and you're a cleansing process 

that enables the darkness 

to see the light.

By your prowess you overcome a very powerful demon.
Your love and mercy defeats the unconquerable God.
Who can go against you Ekadasi, let your light shines upon me.
